1. Get Flemings Nursery pdf titled "Pruning fruit, ornamental and flowering trees" and look at the pictures and read the text below those pictures for apricots.
2. Get "Training and Pruning Your Home Orchard" PDF created by Oregon State U., U. of Idaho, and Washington State U. and read the general section and then the section on apricots.
3. On You Tube view "Apricot Pruning" by the Green Garden Guy1 (especially good info on reclaiming a big tree) and "How to prune Apricot Tree" by khthhon, and "Apricot pruning" by GMTV. Then do a search in You Tube of "pruning apricot trees" to see if there are any other videos that are helpful.
4. Check out Richard Bird's"Pruning Fruiting Plants" from the county library. Note that home gardeners using Richard Bird's pruning book are using training and pruning that keep apricots small and easy to manage (something hard to do with a open center or central leader system)..
